By now most of the quarterback battles are set (with some exceptions) and teams know what they will be looking like. The final week and a half of practice will be focused on polishing a player’s understanding of their assignments and jobs, and coaches begin serious formulating their game plans for their first opponents.

Seems like a good time to visit team and conference predictions. For starters, here’s a grid of predictions for all SEC teams. Bigger breakdowns of some SEC teams will appear in the near future. You can click on the charts to expand them for readability.

The SEC is the dominant conference is college football, winning the last 6 national championships. As long as neither Alabama or LSU loses more than one game, and as long as that one loss isn’t to anyone other than each other, one of those teams will be in the National Championship game. LSU holds the slight advantage here since they get Alabama at home this season. Here are game by game predictions for each SEC team below.

The SEC West is still the dominant division. Obviously, Alabama and LSU lead the pack, but the rest of the teams are fairly close to each other. Complicating the picks is the addition of Texas A&M, whose talent levels, home atmosphere, and recent history prove it is capable of competing on any day, and is capable of blowing it on any day. Most analysts anticipate a good season from them, while others have them performing pitifully.

SEC East

The SEC East isn’t a bad division, its just that there is a big drop off after the top tier as compared with the West. Georgia and South Carolina will battle it out for the East title, with Georgia winning. Florida will have a better than expected season, although it wouldn’t be surprising to see it drop a couple of games and go 6-6 instead of 8-4. Missouri will have a good showing, thanks to home games early on that will allow them to build some momentum. An early upset of Georgia will be huge for the Tigers. Vanderbilt will fall just shy of bowl eligibility, and Kentucky will have fun spending some time outdoors on Saturdays.
